October 2017 Design Trends:
With it being October we couldn’t help but mention Gothic chic with Halloween right around the corner. Gothic doesn’t necessarily mean all black that’s where the chic part comes in as we team black with sumptuous velvet and brass finishes all of which are huge for 2017. The colour pallet can be anything from midnight blue to dark green with hints of black. Matt black home accessories are a great way to introduce this trend specifically into your kitchen or bathroom. Look out for lighting fixtures and faucets to add a striking statement to your current interior. Rococo mirrors are another great way to add a subtle touch of gothic chic with their elaborate frames and heavily ornate detailing these luxe style mirrors can create an air of opulence in your home.
Period Living Modern Twist:
Quite possibly one of our favourite trends for Autumn is the period living with a modern twist. Similar to the Mid Century Modern look this trend takes advantage of period features whether that be your fireplace or flooring and gives it a fresh, modern feel. Metal framed mirrors are perfect for this trend as they can be incorporated into traditionally styled living spaces yet exude a modern industrial feel. Don’t be afraid to clash looks and styles with this trend, for example an elegant, ornate mirror would look stunning featured against an exposed wall or an Art Deco fireplace. Similarly classic style furniture and accessories would look great placed in a modern setting creating a wonderful visually pleasing appearance.
Bring Autumn Indoors:
It’s that time of the year where we get to see all the beautiful colours of Autumn on the trees and in our garden so why not take advantage of this and introduce some of these colours inside our homes? The typical colour pallet of this trend includes shades of gold, copper, brass, orange and red each of which offers a warming feel that will enhance any current interior. Subtle touches such as candle lanterns and wall décor are great ways to introduce this look. Replace your Spring Summer cushions with Autumn inspired accent cushions creating an easy way to instantly update your space. Mirrored furniture & accessories with hints of gold and brass are perfect for adding warmth to your space whilst also creating a cool, aesthetic feel.
