May 2017 Design Trends:
Vintage Is The New Modern:
May is all about embracing old with new creating a versatile look that can work in just about any room. Modern furniture and accessories can sometimes become monotone so adding in touches of vintage styling alongside these on trend pieces can keep your interior looking chic and stylish year round. Subtle ways to introduce this is through various materials; wood and metal are both great at providing a rustic, charming look and often complement stylish, modern pieces. A wooden framed mirror or metal wire racking could add interest to your walls whilst also oozing with vintage flair. A metal framed skeleton clock or window mirror would also work well, these subtle home accessories can be incorporated alongside your statement modern furniture to help create a subtle vintage look.
Light Reflecting Furniture & Accessories:
We adore the light nights Spring has to offer so making sure we take full advantage of it is key. Multi facet mirrors and mirrored furniture are perfect ways to project natural daylight around your room and make great statement pieces. Mirrored glass blends seamlessly into any setting either contemporary or traditional and is great at instantly brightening up your home. Ideal for dark corners such as your landing or entrance hallway these items will project the light and illuminate your room. Multi facet mirrors are uniquely designed to have faceted frames that reflect light in various angles making them perfect for rooms with little natural daylight.
Minimalist Round Mirrors:
With Scandi style still hot in the interior design world we knew it wouldn’t be long before mirrors got the minimalist, stripped back treatment. Round mirrors already offer a simple look due to their curvaceous frames but for Spring 2017 it’s all about the unfussy frame. Think sleek, elegant and stylish this month the frames finish does the talking with copper, pewter and bronze still being popular finishes to complement modern interiors. Round mirrors are exceptionally versatile and work well in just about any setting whether that be above your bed in the bedroom or offering new life to your mantle piece in the living room. These mirrors are the perfect finishing touch to any setting keeping your interior looking stylish and modern.
